This Privacy Policy describes how Universal Remote("we," "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects information when you use the Air Cast application ("App") and the website at aircast.universaltv.app. By using Air Cast you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. What We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • No account required. Air Cast does not ask you to register or sign in. Anonymous identifiers are used only to manage your subscription via RevenueCat.
  • Support requests. If you contact us at aircast@universaltv.app we receive your email address and the contents of your message so we can respond.
  • Diagnostic reports.If you tap "Send diagnostic" in the app or a connection error triggers an automatic report, the app sends a technical bundle containing your device model, iOS version, app version, paired TV model, connection state and entitlement status. Diagnostic reports never include the content you mirror or cast.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Analytics. Firebase Analytics tracks anonymized events such as app launches, casting sessions, paywall views and subscription state. This data is aggregated and cannot identify you.
  • Crash reports. Firebase Crashlytics captures crash stack traces so we can fix bugs.
  • Tracking & advertising attribution.We use Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework to ask permission before any advertiser identifier is collected. The Meta (Facebook) SDK is used for ad attribution; advertiser ID collection and auto-logging of app events are disabled by default and are only enabled if you grant ATT permission. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Subscription data.RevenueCat processes subscription transactions through Apple's App Store. We receive anonymized entitlement status only. We never see your payment card details.

2. What We Don't Collect

  • What you mirror or cast. Mirror streams and cast media flow directly from your iPhone to your TV over your local WiFi. Nothing routes through our servers. We do not see, record or analyze the content of your screen, photos, videos or audio.
  • Local network data. We do not transmit information about your home network, the other devices on it, or your TV settings.
  • Location. We do not collect your geographic location.
  • Photos & files. The app accesses your Photos library only when you explicitly pick a photo or video to cast.

3. How We Use Information

  • App functionality. To discover TVs on your local network, pair, and send mirror/cast streams.
  • Analytics. To understand which features people use so we can prioritize improvements.
  • Reliability. To diagnose connection issues and fix bugs.
  • Subscription management. To verify premium entitlement.
  • Customer support. To respond to your messages.
  • Advertising attribution. Only when you have granted ATT permission.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the following service providers, and only as needed to operate the app:

  • Firebase (Google): Analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, authentication, cloud messaging.
  • RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management.
  • Meta (Facebook): Advertising attribution. Only active if you grant ATT permission.
  • Apple: App Store distribution and subscription processing.

5. Data Retention

Aggregated analytics is retained for up to 24 months. Crash reports for up to 90 days. Support email correspondence for up to 12 months after resolution. Subscription state is retained by RevenueCat for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after cancellation.

6. Data Security

Mirror and cast streams use platform-appropriate transport — TLS for AirPlay 2 and modern Cast targets, encrypted DLNA where supported. We use industry-standard security to protect any data we receive from our service providers. No system is 100% secure, but we treat security as a first-class concern.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request information about the data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of analytics collection in your device settings
  • Request correction of inaccurate data

7.1 GDPR (European Economic Area)

  • Legal basis: Legitimate interest (analytics), contract performance (providing the app), and consent (diagnostic reports, advertising attribution).
  • Data portability: You may request a structured copy of your data.
  • Right to object: You may object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Supervisory authority: You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7.2 California (CCPA / CPRA)

  • Right to know: Request disclosure of categories and specific pieces of personal information collected.
  • Right to delete: Request deletion, subject to limited exceptions.
  • Right to opt-out: We do not sell personal information and do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

8. Children's Privacy

Air Cast is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us at aircast@universaltv.app and we will promptly delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your country of residence. Transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses and the providers' own data protection commitments.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes are noted via the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
